JDSU's 40-channel integrated PLC reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) is a critical building block for agile optical networks, making it possible for service providers to dynamically add capacity and flexibility to their networks and deliver on-demand services to consumers. It provides the ability to remotely configure any or all wavelengths, enabling the cost-effective creation and deployment of more complex network architectures. JDSU is the leading provider of ROADMs, and shipped its 10,000th unit in December 2006.
