Applied Optoelectronics Inc. has introduced a small-form-factor pluggable transceiver for colorless optical networking terminals used in wavelength division multiplexed passive optical networks (WDM-PONs). The device supports WDM-PON applications where the upstream signals are in the optical C-band and the downstream signals are in the optical L-band. It operates at speeds up to 125 Mb/s and has fiber pigtails for flexible installation.
