The PSC-8240 fiber polarization scrambler accepts polarized source power up to +25 dBm and delivers a degree of polarization of <5% over varying temperatures. ILX Lightwave Corp. says that its compact, benchtop instrument is easy to use and that it reduces the effects of polarization in components and test equipment during test, with an insertion loss of <0.7 dB. The device has an all-fiber design and comes with a standard IEEE-488.2 GPIB remote interface.
