POLARIZATION SWITCH The all-fiber polarization switch from Phoenix Photonics Ltd. is designed to provide a flexible and compact means of converting polarization for applications in telecommunications, test and measurement, and optical sensing. The switch converts an input linear state aligned on the input polarization-maintaining-fiber axis to either of the orthogonal output axes. It displays low losses and virtually zero backreflection, and it is available for use at wavelengths of 1300 to 1610 nm. The company says that the switch can be adapted to operate at other wavelengths.
