Newport Corp. has introduced the 1918-C handheld optical power and energy meter. Suitable for testing laser, LED, laser diode and broadband light sources, the compact and sturdy device measures power from 1 nW to 6 kW and energy from 250 μJ to 75 J. The meter features a full-color thin-film transistor LCD with selectable color settings, and it operates at repetition rates of up to 2 kHz. The device performs math, statistics, graphing and charting functions and stores up to 250,000 data points internally.
