The PPS-150 series laser diode drivers manufactured by Portable Power Systems provide up to 150 A of continuous-wave or pulsed current at various compliance voltages.

The units are microprocessor-controlled with electrically erasable programmable read-only memory for storing the last set parameters for the laser. The devices have internal pulse, frequency and current generation and are supplied with coolant and remote interlocks, laser and driver overtemperature protection, and overvoltage and overcurrent protection. There is also reverse electromotive force protection at the laser itself.

The PPS-150-50DP model offers a rise/fall time of 15 µs, compliance voltage of 50 V, an RS-232 interface and front panel control.

Other features of all models in the series include floating output and an adjustable current limit.

Options include 0 to 10-V analog outputs for current and voltage control of an external power supply. The standard units operate from a universal input of 85 to 264 VAC, and all come with an 18-month warranty, with an external warranty available.
