Ocean Optics Inc. says that its Guided Wave Model 412 process spectrometer is a 'smart' chemical sensor. The device uses remote multichannel near-IR to scan and analyze process streams carrying samples such as polyols, vinyls, polymers and refinery products. It comprises a spectrophotometer, up to 12 near-IR probes, fiber optic cables and software. Features include dual-beam design and high-output scanning grating for high signal-to-noise ratio. The device comes in visible, near-IR and extended-near-IR versions, operating at 380 to 1070, 800 to 1700 and 1000 to 2100 nm, respectively.
