Sony Electronics Inc. is offering the ultracompact XC-55 and XC-55BB monochrome series of miniature camera modules for a wide range of industrial monitoring and machine vision applications. The 1/3-in. IT progressive-scan CCD cameras are designed for integration into a wide variety of image processing applications including bottle and food inspection, optical character recognition and highway monitoring. The modules can capture high-resolution images in 1/30 s, which makes them suitable for high-speed image capture.
