Calmar has developed the PSL-40, a  user-friendly version of its 40 GHz actively mode-locked fiber laser. The laser is completely computer controlled and offers the ability to continuously select repetition rate, wavelength and pulse width. It will automatically lock and maintain at its optimized status, eliminating the need for intensive interaction by users.

The PSL-40 requires no user experience, no optical and radio frequency equipment (such as high-speed DCA or optical sampling scope, optical spectrum analyzer or autocorrelator). It also features low timing jitter, a low pedestal and a transform-limited pulse shape.
