PULSED LASER DIODES Pulsed laser diodes at 905 and 1550 nm that have applications in range-finding, law enforcement, laser radar, security scanners, laser light curtains, and test-and-measurement systems are offered by Laser Components Instrument Group Inc. Their AlGaAs structure provides reliability, good beam characteristics and high-temperature stability. With an efficiency of 1 W/A, the stacked emitters can reach 120 W in peak power at a pulse length of 200 ns. The 905-nm diodes are offered in TO-18, 5.6-mm or 9-mm housing as well as 8032 Coax or as a chip on a ceramic mount. The 1550-nm types, available as single-emitter or stacked devices with a peak power of 50 W, are packaged in a TO-18 mount.
