A 375-nm picosecond-pulsed laser system featuring a Nichia UV laser diode has been introduced by PicoQuant GmbH. The laser provides pulse durations of <70 ps and high repetition rates for time-correlated single-photon counting. The system includes the PDL 800-B one-channel or PDL 808 Sepia multichannel driver and interchangeable laser heads with wavelengths of 375 to 440 nm and 635 to 1500 nm. The driver's internal pulse clock runs at a maximum frequency of 40 MHz, or the laser pulses can be triggered through an external sync input for a trigger frequency from single shot to 40 MHz.
