The AM6-940B laser pump diodes introduced by Alfalight Inc. deliver 10 W of 940-nm light output with a high-brightness 105-μm fiber that has a 0.22 numerical aperture, with 0.15 available upon request. The single-emitter laser diodes include a thermistor for temperature monitoring and are available in an uncooled compact six-pin telecommunications-grade package. Operating current is 11 A, and typical and maximum forward voltages are 1.85 and 2.2 V, respectively. Spectral width is 4 nm, and spectral shift is 0.33 nm/°C. Fiber length is 1.25 minimum, 1.5 typical and 1.8 m maximum. The diodes are housed in a hermetic epoxy-free package.
