SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 21, 2017 — Packet-Optical PlatformThe XTM II next-generation packet-optical platform from Infinera Corp. is designed for cloud-scale metro packet-optical applications.

The system delivers rich layer 0, layer 1 and layer 2 services with high density, low latency and low power consumption. It is optimized for bandwidth-intensive cloud scale applications at the metro edge, such as Remote PHY, 5G transport and data center interconnect, that are deployable in facilities with restricted space and power.

The XTM II adds 200 Gbps per wavelength capabilities with an eightfold density increase and a reduction in power/Gb of 3.5×.
