Photodiode Detector
Ophir, PhotonicsRequest Info
Ophir-Spiricon LLC’s Laser Measurement Group has announced
the FPS-1, a fast photodetector designed to measure the temporal pulse shape of
lasers or other light sources. A high-speed photodiode sensor with a wide spectral
response, it provides 1-ns response time and accommodates wavelengths from 190 to
1100 nm. Compact, easy to use and flexible, it offers two modes of operation: the
50-Ω load measures nanosecond high-peak power pulses, while the 10-KΩ
load measures longer and lower peak power pulses. Input can be direct beam or from
a fiber connection. Neutral density filters are available to adjust the sensitivity
to the power level of the source, or the user can adjust the input intensity to
the level appropriate for the detector by scattering the laser light off a white
matte surface and backing off until the appropriate intensity is reached.
