OLCHING, Germany, Dec. 2, 2014 — Laser Components Count SLaser Components’ Count-S is the newest addition to the company’s Count series of photon counters.

The new module features a large active area of 500 µm to facilitate better focusing, and is also passively quenched. Its dead time of approximately 1 µs yields a maximum count rate of up to 1 million counts per second. The dark count rates of the Count-S range between 1000 and 5000 cps.

It is designed for use in research that involves quantum optics and information.
