SUI, a division of Goodrich Corp., has released the SU-02-SPC NIR photon counter. The 19 x 5.25 x 12-in. bench instrument is designed for single-photon counting in the near-IR spectrum from 0.9 to 1.6 μm. The device allows discrimination of avalanche photodiode output pulses at very low current levels as well as active quenching circuitry with response times under 10 ns. It also offers control over a broad range of parameters such as gate duration, repetition rate, detection probability and dead time. The device can be used for ultrasensitive Raman spectroscopy, singlet oxygen detection and photodynamic therapy dosimetry.
