BERLIN, May 30, 2022 — Photonic Design SoftwareVersion 11.3 of VPIphotonics GmbH’s Design Suite is an updated design software for photonic components and optical transmission systems.

With professional, application-specific simulation tools and pluggable toolkits, the software offers flexible usability, design process, and data analysis capabilities. The simulation and design flow is advanced for applications such as data-aided digital signal processing, forward error correction, free-space optical communications, Raman pump optimization, grating couplers, semiconductor optical amplifiers, multimode coupling, and more.

With improved sorting order of built-in digital signal processing algorithms, updated categories for easy access and implementation, and new modules that add or remove arbitrary sequences of pilot symbols for pilot-aided digital signal processing algorithms, the software can be used in both commercial and educational fields.
