Photovoltaic DetectorsHamamatsu Corp. has expanded its IR detector lineup with the P13894-011 series of photovoltaic detectors that cover the mid-IR region up to 11 μm.

The P13894-011 series features high sensitivity and high-speed response. In addition, they are RoHS compliant, which is an advantage over traditional mercury cadmium telluride detectors. These characteristics make the P13894-011 series suitable for gas detection and radiation thermometers. In addition to high sensitivity, they also have a fast response time.

Other features include a 1 × 1-mm photosensitive area and room-temperature operation.
