New Focus, a Newport Corp. brand, has introduced a series of large-aperture Picomotor-driven kinematic optical mirror mounts. A piezoactuated screw, the Picomotor provides remote high-precision motorized positioning with <0.7-µrad resolution, allowing for quick manual adjustments using an integrated knob.

The mounts are available in clear-edge and center-mount configurations for 2.0-, 3.0- and 4.0-in.-diameter optics. Thick front and rear plates, carbide seats and optimized stiff springs provide the rigidity and stability needed to hold large-diameter mirrors.
