The MICI series piezo actuators has been expanded by piezosystem jena. Used for fine adjustment in conjunction with manual coarse positioning stages, they often are combined with micrometer screws to provide nanometer-scale fine adjustment on top and an electronic position control. The company has added the MICI 200/MICI 200 SG, extending the travel range to 240 μm in open-loop mode, with no compromise in rigidity or dynamic behavior. The new model is equipped with a precise strain gauge feedback sensor to enable closed-loop operation and a travel range of up to 200 μm. The closed-loop mode compensates for the effect of drift/creep and hysteresis.
