Designed for deconvolution and 3-D imaging, the
NanoScanZ piezo stage system from Prior Scientific Inc. features a subangstrom resolution
piezo-resistive sensor and 1-nm repeatability. The company offers models that can
travel 100 or 200 μm. Instead of moving the objective, the motorized stage
moves a specimen in the Z direction, introducing less optical error and allowing
easier access to the objectives. It is capable of differential interference contrast
operation, and it comes with a display screen. The CE-compliant stage can be controlled
through an RS-232 interface, a USB cable or a 0 to 10-V analog control.
