Conoptics Inc. has introduced its Model CON1064PC polarization converter. The device converts a linearly polarized laser beam operating at 1064 nm into a radially or azimuthally polarized beam. Radially or azimuthally polarized light can be produced by rotating the angle of the incident polarization. The converter is manufactured with high tolerances and comprises 12 l/2 30° wedges with the optic axis of each wedge rotated by 15°. A proprietary manufacturing and assembly process enables the device to withstand >190-W/cm2 power density.
