B&W Tek Inc. has launched the i-Raman EX portable Raman spectrometer, an extension of its i-Raman portable spectrometer, with a 1064-nm excitation laser for biological substance and fluorescent samples measurement.

The i-Raman EX is equipped with a high-sensitivity InGaAs array detector with deep thermoelectric cooling and high dynamic range to deliver a high signal-to-noise ratio. The device provides spectral resolution as fine as 9.5 cm–1 and spectral coverage from 175 to 2500 cm–1, enabling measurement of the entire fingerprint region.

It comes with a fiber optic probe, a probe holder with X-Y-Z positioning stage, a cuvette adapter for measuring liquid samples and proprietary BWIQ multivariate analysis software.
