NEWBURYPORT, Mass., Jan. 6, 2010 – Gigahertz-Optik Inc. has introduced the ISD-1.6-Si-1 and the ISD-1.6-Si-FC-1 radiant power measurement detectors featuring a compact 16-mm-diameter integrating sphere for small-size beam emitter-type light sources with divergent beam light emittance, such as laser diode dyes and optical fibers.
The detectors measure 43.5 × 25 × 17.5 mm, and their primary function is to fit inside existing equipment and tight enclosed spaces to collect the entire light beam and measure beam power through their 3-mm measurement port.
The silicon photodiode detector offers a wide spectral range from 400 to 1100 nm and a typical absolute sensitivity of 200 µA/W at 630 nm, with 500-mW maximum power. The detector head is traceably calibrated and certified to international standards, and the detectors can be used for power measurements with all of the company’s optometers.
The ISD-1.6-Si-FC-1 model includes an FC connector to allow connection of a spectrometer in cases that require spectral data. The FC connector is mounted opposite the measurement port to collect the maximum amount of light signal for high-resolution spectrometers with limited sensitivity.
A near-infrared version with an InGaAs photodiode to cover the 800- to 1700-nm spectral range is also available.
