SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 24, 2013 — Continuum Inc., a subsidiary of GSI Group, has released the Powerlite Furie, a high-energy Nd:YAG laser that delivers 7 J of IR and 4 J of green light for applications including Ti:sapphire pumping and materials processing.

The instrument provides a repetition rate of 10 Hz and a beam diameter of 20 mm, ±1 mm. It offers an intuitive graphical user interface and a distributed-intelligence power supply, and can operate 24/7 for set-and-forget industrial applications.
