The precision microstage from New Scale Technologies has a built-in controller to give you the smallest system size, lowest system cost, and fastest time to market. Embed precision motion in your new hand-held and portable instruments. The stage accepts high-level motion commands directly from your system processor over standard I2C or SPI serial interface. The M3-LS-3.4-15 Linear Smart Stage offers unmatched precision, stability, and ease of use. It measures 32 x 32 x 11 mm including the controller — no separate control board is needed. With 6-V DC input it is ideal for battery-powered hand-held and portable applications.
Stages are easily configured into XY and XYZ configurations. The piezo-driven positioning stage has 0.5-µm resolution for precise, repeatable positioning of optics, probes, sensors, and more. Absolute encoding removes the need to home the stage on power-up, eliminating errors and disruptions in processes and experiments. The microstage has high stiffness and lateral stability, no backlash, and less than 10 µm runout over its full 15-mm travel range. It is extremely quiet in operation and holds position with power off.
