EDISON, N.J., June 17, 2019 — Pulsed Laser DiodeThe SCW 1731F-D40R pulsed laser diode from OSI Laser Diode Inc. is designed for optical test equipment applications where high-peak-pulsed optical power is required.

The 1650-nm distributed feedback device offers a stabilized wavelength that is unaffected by operational pulse width, making it ideal for optical spectrum analysis and optical time-domain reflectometer tasks. The module also features a broader spectrum than is available in traditional distributed feedback lasers and exhibits less noise in similar applications.

The diode is housed in a 14-pin DIL package with RoHS compliance. It is optically coupled to a surface mount framed fiber pigtail while including a thermoelectric cooler and an electrically isolated temperature-sensing thermistor.
