Analog Modules Inc. has released its high-current pulsed laser diode driver, Model 773.

A low-cost, compact low-voltage DC input power converter/laser diode driver, it supplies high-pulsed current for laser diode stack loads. Pulsed output current is 100 A with 25-µs rise time into diode stacks of 2 to 5 V (up to 3-ms pulse width for Er:glass at an average power to the load of 1 W.

Performance over temperature is guaranteed from −32 to 55 °C. The driver weighs 2.1 oz and is suitable for rangefinding applications. The unit does not require a heat sink and offers open- and short-circuit protection.
