Pump laser diodes from Coherent Corp. offer 65 W of output power with low operating current to support fiber lasers in industrial and consumer applications. The 65-W laser diodes are based on a vertically integrated 6-in. gallium arsenide technology platform. They are available at 915 nm and 975 nm as bare dies or chips on ceramic submounts to meet customer requirements. The chips include Coherent’s E2 front mirror passivation that prevents damage to the laser, even at extremely high output powers. The product builds on a 50-W diode offering that the company released earlier this year.
