Mirrorcle MEMS laser intracavity Q-switchesA laser intracavity Q-switch from Mirrorcle replaces complex and costly components previously needed for acousto-optic, electro-optic or passive Q-switches.

The modules are based on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) without any gimbals. They are available with high-reflectivity dielectric coatings. The MEMS mirror acts as a high-reflectance end mirror in a laser resonant cavity and can be modulated on demand. The modules feature single-axis mirror tilt capability and can be controlled to align with the laser cavity or to tilt away from alignment.

The devices can be easily batch-fabricated, utilizing established semiconductor manufacturing processes, yielding hundreds of devices on a single silicon wafer.
