MAINZ, Germany, Aug. 2, 2007 -- Dilas Diodenlaser GmbH said its latest diode-laser stack array is its highest power conduction-cooled, quasi-continuous-wave (QCW) stack array to date.

Available in configurations of 100 W per bar or 150 W per bar, specific combinations of wavelength and power can be customized upon request. These compact diode-laser stack arrays are targeted for high-temperature applications such as commercial solid-state laser pumping, defense and OEM, Dilas said.

DilasQCW.jpgThe diode-laser stack arrays feature standard wavelengths at 808 nm, 940 nm and 980 nm. Due to this unique mounting and cooling technology these bars can be stacked vertically, making them an ideal building block for applications requiring kilowatts of QCW power in a very small area.

These high fill-factor bars measure 1-cm long and feature a vertical pitch in the stack as small as 0.4 mm. Typical operating current and voltage for these arrays is 100 A at less than 2 V. Beam divergence is less than 40º by 10º FWHM (full width half maximum) and maximum 2-percent duty cycle.

In addition, the stack arrays feature AuSn (gold-tin) solder technology that provides its users extended lifetime and reliability in high temperature applications and enhances the performance in burst mode, the company said.
