The Lumazone video system from Roper Bioscience is offered in various models for quantitative measurement of chemiluminescence and fluorescence emitted by samples, including whole animals and plants. All models come with a dark box, an overhead camera, an LED light source for bright-field imaging and Lumazone software that can generate a 3-D surface plot. Buyers can choose one of five back-illuminated CCD and front- or back-illuminated electron-multiplying CCD cameras, depending on their needs. The cameras all have a 16-bit dynamic range and are cooled. Certain models include automated or manual control, emission and excitation filter wheels, a 100- or 300-W xenon light source and a circular neutral-density filter to control lamp intensity.
