NEUCHATEL, Switzerland, Feb. 6 2015 — New quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) from Alpes Lasers SA are available in high-heat-load housing with collimated output, and can be operated with drivers for optimal usage.
The HP-QCL high-power sources have a minimum average power of 1 W and more than 9 W of peak power with a multimode spectral output. Devices centered around 2040 cm-1 (4.9 μm) are available from stock, with other wavelengths available on demand.
The dedicated driver for these high-power lasers can be programmed internally or externally controlled through TTL signals with arbitrary pulse sequences. Applications include free-space optical communications, energy deposition, illumination and IR countermeasures.
The QC-ET extended-tuning QCLs feature an increased wavelength scanning span through fully electrical control at constant heat-sink temperatures, allowing wavelength ramps and dither over a range of more than 0.4 percent of the central wavelength 6 cm-1 at 1270 cm-1). Applications included fast wide scanning and multispecies gas monitoring.
