Quasar 355-45 and Quasar 532-75 UV Lasers

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 20, 2013 — Spectra-Physics, a division of Newport Corp., has introduced the Quasar 355-45 UV laser, which delivers >45 W (225 µJ) at double the repetition rate and half the pulse width of previous models.

The laser features TimeShift technology for pulse shaping and burst-mode operation as well as programmable pulse widths from <5 to >100 ns over repetition rates from 0 to 1 MHz, making it suited for applications in precision manufacturing of microelectronic devices and components. Also available is the Quasar 532-75 model featuring >75 W (375 µJ) green output.

The platform combines fiber laser, power amplifier and patented harmonics technologies. Using long-life components and state-of-the-art UV manufacturing processes, Quasar has passed extensive environmental qualification testing.
