Spectra-Physics, a Newport company, has released the Quasar 355-60 UV laser for microelectronic device manufacturing.

The device offers >60 W, pulse energies >300 µJ, repetition rate of 0 to 3.5 MHz and pulse widths of <2 to >100 ns. It combines fiber laser, power amplifier and patented harmonics technologies to improve throughput and precision.
