package from Synoptics Ltd. calculates the fractal dimension of a
particle edge, giving a quantitative description of the particle
structure or shape. This allows subjective assessments such as rough,
smooth or grainy to be represented by a measurable coefficient. Dubbed
Fractal, the module can be used in conjunction with binary images to
calculate fractal dimensions from the outline of an object and offers
comprehensive data handling.
