An RS Laser Module featuring quasi-collimating optics, a complete single encapsulated unit, and constant optical output power is available from Power Technology Inc. The company reports that it designed the RS laser diode system for OEMs with cost-sensitive applications. Systems that are class 3a and below are CDRH-certified.
The product is available with an optional line generating lens installed, which lens will be permanently fixed at the factory. For lasers requiring more than 50mA, an additional heatsink will be needed. Power Technology noted that the output power of the RS laser module is preset at the factory to ensure that power falls within the desired range of the specified laser class.
