BARRINGTON, N.J., Sept. 3, 2014 —
Radial polarization converters by Edmund Optics are S-waveplates designed to convert linear polarization to radial or azimuthal polarization in order to reduce laser beam spot size.
The new converters produce radially polarized light, used for stimulated emission depletion (STED), as well as two-photon excitation fluorescence microscopy, laser micromachining and optical tweezing applications. They also feature 5-mm apertures and are available in 632-, 800- and 1030-nm-wavelength models with an outer diameter of 25.4 mm.
