RAd-icon.jpgThe Shad-o-Box HS x-ray camera from Rad-icon Imaging Corp. is a stand-alone, high-resolution radiation imaging device with a 12-bit digital interface. The large 49.2 × 49.2-mm sensing area consists of a 512 × 512-pixel photodiode array with 96-μm-pixel spacing. Operating at up to 20 fps in real time, the instrument has a low read noise of 150 e rms, an energy range of 10 to 160 kV and a dynamic range of 4000:1. It comes with software and drivers, works with standard frame grabbers and has an integral screen to shield it from ambient light.
