Oclaro Inc.’s new HL63163DG red laser diode offers a compact alternative to bulky HeNe gas lasers for biomedical, inspection and measurement applications.

The device operates at a 633-nm wavelength, providing 100-mW single-transverse-mode optical output power. It offers low power consumption of 0.4 W and comes in a compact 5.6-mm-diameter transistor outline package.
