RENNES, France, July 19, 2019 — Reflective AxiconsReflective axicons from Cailabs SAS are optics that improve Bessel beam glass-cutting processes.

An axicon is a specialized type of lens with a conical surface to transform a laser beam into a ring shaped distribution. 15 axicons ranging from UV to IR are available off-the-shelf and compatible with scanning systems to produce a wide range of Bessel beams. The Bessel profiles obtained using the reflective axicons are of much better quality than those obtained using traditional refractive axicons, being more in tune with theoretical profiles and offering a greater depth of field without any oscillation.

Applications include alignment and triangulation, glass and composite processing, and atom guiding, among others.
