Request InfoAccurion GmbHHalcyonics GmbH has announced the Mod-1 plus systems for active antivibration isolation in atomic force microscopes and other applications. The devices integrate an automatic load adjustment and a USB interface. They offer 0.6- to 100.0-Hz active isolation against six degrees of freedom and >100.0-Hz passive isolation. The systems include eight electrodynamic transducers and eight piezoelectric accelerometers for sensing horizontal and vertical vibrations. They isolate at frequencies down to 2 Hz with no low-frequency resonance and can handle a 90-kg maximum load.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra February 2020 IssueLight EngineThe ZIVA light engine from Lumencor Inc. features seven individually addressable lasers and advanced electronic control systems. Since nanopositioning is a discipline that has enabled swiftly evolving application arenas as diverse as materials science, genomics, photonics, defense, biophysics, and semiconductors, it’s unsurprising that its pace of innovation is nothing short of blistering in recent years.By its original definition, a nanopositioning device is a mechanism capable of repeatedly delivering motion in increments as small as one nanometer. Lately demands from industry and research have...Photonics HandbookNSOM: Discovering New Worlds: Near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) is an optical microscopy technique capable of imaging objects with a resolution below the diffraction limit of conventional (far-field) microscopy; i.e., below approximately half the wavelength of the light used.NSOM is suitable for studies on the mesoscopic scale (several tens to hundreds of molecular dimensions). It has become an important tool in research and applications of semiconductors, organic layers...Photonics HandbookImage Processing: Turning Digital Data into Useful Information: Digital imaging provides the means to enhance features of interest while attenuating details that are irrelevant to a given application, and then extracts useful information about the scene from the enhanced image.Images are produced by many means: cameras, x-ray machines, electron microscopes, radar and ultrasound. They are used in the entertainment, medical, scientific and business industries; for security...Photonics HandbookDetectors: The Charge Injection Alternative: Charge-injection device (CID) technology provides a means to convert optical signals from 185 nm to 1100 nm to electronic charges that can be read out as a video signal or processed via computer. The CID imagers also are capable of directly (or indirectly) converting particle photons including electrons, ions, x-rays and other forms of ionizing radiation to measurable levels of electronic charge.Charged-injection device imagers are metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS) detectors that can be fabricated using PMOS, NMOS and CMOS integrated circuit technology, and may be configured as a...WHITEPAPERSPhotonics.com 6/19/2020Automated Scratch-Dig Inspection - Advantages of Replacing Manual-visual InspectionWorldwide a tendency can be observed to increase accuracy and quality of inspection of optical parts.
