TOKYO, Feb. 18, 2016 — Mitsubishi Electric Corp. has prototyped a high-precision air-quality sensor to detect fine particles measuring no more than 2.5 μm (called PM2.5), as well as pollen and dust. Scattered light from particles is measured with a double-sided mirror design, collecting about 1.8× more scattered light than conventional single-sided designs.
