Request InfoHamamatsu CorporationBRIDGEWATER, N.J., Aug. 3, 2010 — Hamamatsu Corp. has introduced CCD linear image sensors with an internal electronic shutter function. Designed for use in spectrometers, the S11155-2048 and S11156-2048 are back-thinned and achieve 10-MHz maximum readout due to their resistive gate structure. They have a spectral response range from 200 to 1100 nm with high sensitivity in the UV region. Other features include low image lag, an improved antiblooming function and reduced etaloning effects. The S11155-2048 has pixels measuring 14 × 500 µm, while the S11156-2048’s pixels measure 14 × 1000...See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra August 2022 IssueTime-of-Flight CameraThe DepthVista time of flight (ToF) camera from e-con Systems Inc. features a ToF depth sensor for depth measurement and the onsemi AR0234 color global shutter sensor for object identification. ...Photonics Spectra December 2021 IssueTwo-stage IR DetectorThe BXT2S-68TE thermoelectrically-cooled, two-stage IR detector from Opto Diode Corp. is designed for gas analysis, emissions monitoring, and process control. Putting that knowledge to work requires an understanding of the tools of the trade and how to use them. All optical spectrometry techniques rely on the measurement of radiant power. The configuration of the instrument varies based on the measurement technique: absorption, emission, luminescence, or...Photonics HandbookDetector Arrays: Taming the Irregular Shape Problem: Devices that perform well under laboratory conditions often face hurdles in uncontrolled real-world situations. This is true for charge-coupled devices (CCDs) and thermal cameras used in machine vision applications where an object's shape, location and orientation vary. Often the culprit is the detector array. If we were to estimate the output of a CCD or thermal camera, we would typically draw an image over the detectors, aligning the image with the detector axes. We show it this way because it’s...Photonics HandbookCamera Resolution: Combining Detector and Optics Performance: Most image-quality discussions center on resolution, which is thought to uniquely determine system performance. Resolution, however, is a more complex concept.Camera resolution depends upon the optical blur diameter and the detector size. Schade combined these to create an equivalent resolution that is a function of Fλ/d where F is the focal ratio,...Photonics HandbookRadiation Tolerances: Effects on CID Imaging Devices: The charge-injection device (CID) is a broadband (200 to 1100 nm) charge-transfer device (CTD) image sensor with capabilities well beyond the limitations of typical commercially available charge-coupled devices (CCDs), CMOS, and active pixel sensors.Like other CTDs, the CID imager uses hundreds of thousands (up to 4 million) pixel elements to capture optical images, and converts the light into an electronic charge which may be displayed on a...WHITEPAPERSPhotonics.com 6/21/2023Noise Mitigation Strategies for Infrared DetectionWhen it comes to infrared measurements, a lock-in amplifier paired with a pulsed light source is an essential tool to increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for low light applications.
