Request InfoSenso-Optics Ltd.Senso Optics has introduced its camera-on-chip (COC). This new COC is the world’s first thermal application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), its developers said. It touts a 3-second start-up time and uses less than 1 W of power. The new device also features a 640 × 480 resolution on a 30 × 30 mm card. Using a thermal chip, COC technology creates miniature uncooled cameras, which dismisses the need for a detector and another two cards. This new COC enables everything in one solution. It also allows object detection from 2 km and a sharper, clearer image. ...See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPromoted Content September 2019 IssueDiscover the Alvium Camera Series!Industrial machine vision and embedded vision merge with Allied Vision’s innovative camera platform, the Alvium Camera Series. Resolution, however, is a more complex concept.Camera resolution depends upon the optical blur diameter and the detector size. Schade combined these to create an equivalent resolution that is a function of Fλ/d where F is the focal ratio,...Photonics HandbookRadiation Tolerances: Effects on CID Imaging Devices: The charge-injection device (CID) is a broadband (200 to 1100 nm) charge-transfer device (CTD) image sensor with capabilities well beyond the limitations of typical commercially available charge-coupled devices (CCDs), CMOS, and active pixel sensors.Like other CTDs, the CID imager uses hundreds of thousands (up to 4 million) pixel elements to capture optical images, and converts the light into an electronic charge which may be displayed on a...Photonics HandbookFluorescence Lifetime Imaging: Choosing the Best Approach: Fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), which measures the spatial distribution of the fluorescence decay, can be achieved either in the time or in the frequency domain. Each approach exhibits advantages and disadvantages, depending on the type of light detector and acquisition method employed. The term fluorescence is often applied as a synonym for photoluminescence, although luminescence actually covers fluorescence and phosphorescence. Both of these terms describe the process of...Photonics HandbookInfrared Spectral Selection: It Begins with the Detector: An IR imaging system employing a narrow spectral band brings hidden images to light, broadening IR imaging’s applications.Spectral selection is a powerful tool that enhances conventional imaging tremendously.
