Request InfoNET New Electronic Technology GmbHNew Electronic Technology (NET) GmbH has unveiled the S-series Foculus monochrome and color IEEE-1394 digital CCD cameras. The cameras achieve resolutions from 640 x 480 at up to 86 fps and from 1600 x 1200 at 16 fps. Higher frame rates can be reached by setting a region of interest. Measuring 29 x 44 x 63 mm, the cameras are equipped with Sony CCD Matrix image sensors from 1/3 to 1/1.8 in. Binning modes of 2 x 2 and 1 x 2 are available. Viewer Software is included, and a software development kit can be downloaded from the company’s Web site.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra September 2023 IssueNIR SensorsKyoto Semiconductor’s KPR series features 14 SWIR reflective sensors designed for use in a wide range of applications including medical and healthcare fields, analysis and measurement fields,...Photonics.com 10/30/2021Autoclave Resistant AdhesiveThe MD® 1040-M Autoclave Resistant Adhesive from Dymax Corp. is an autoclave-resistant adhesive for medical instruments and assembly bond, pot, or encapsulate medical devices that require...BioPhotonics Sep/Oct 2022 IssueNanoCytometerThe Delaware Flow NanoCytometer™ from Kinetic River Corp. is designed for the sensitive detection of sub-µm particles, including extracellular vesicles and tumor-derived exosomes, in flow...Photonics.com 2/7/2022Nanoimprint and Wafer-level Optics SystemThe EVG®7300 automated SmartNIL® nanoimprint and wafer-level optics system from the EV Group combines multiple UV-based process capabilities such as nanoimprint lithography, lens molding, and...ARTICLESPhotonics Spectra July 2022 IssueTwo Ceremonies Honor Photonics Technology Innovators in Munich, AachenThe jury of the Innovation Award 2022 has named winners of its annual awards at LASER World of PHOTONICS (LASER Munich), recognizing six companies that will take home top prizes in seven categories....Photonics.com 10/12/2022Mauna Kea Names Company Co-Founder CEO; MicroCare Adds Supply Chain Director: People in the News 10/12/2022Medical device developer and manufacturer Mauna Kea Technologies appointed Sacha Loiseau CEO. These articles will provide the tools optics designers need to tailor their designs to the appropriate manufacturing process and to optimize the cost of component fabrication.Aspheric surfaces are powerful tools that combine the optical corrections of multiple lenses into a single element (Figure 1) and affect performance in ways that spherical optics cannot. For example,...Photonics HandbookDetectors: CCDs for Life-Science Applications: The CCD camera is becoming the imaging method of choice in biological laboratories for its resolution, versatility and ease of use. Choosing the best CCD for a given application, however, requires knowing how basic chip parameters affect performance.Since their invention in the late 1960s, charge-coupled devices, also called CCDs, have found widespread use in imaging applications. Electronic cameras based on CCD technology are used in...Photonics HandbookLight-Emitting Diodes: A Primer: Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are semiconductors that convert electrical energy into light energy. The color of the emitted light depends on the semiconductor material and composition, with LEDs generally classified into three wavelengths: ultraviolet, visible, and infrared. The wavelength range of commercially available LEDs with single-element output power of at least 5 mW is 275 to 950 nm. Each wavelength range is made from a specific semiconductor material family,...Photonics HandbookFluorescence Lifetime Imaging: Choosing the Best Approach: Fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), which measures the spatial distribution of the fluorescence decay, can be achieved either in the time or in the frequency domain. Each approach exhibits advantages and disadvantages, depending on the type of light detector and acquisition method employed. The term fluorescence is often applied as a synonym for photoluminescence, although luminescence actually covers fluorescence and phosphorescence. Both of these terms describe the process of...WHITEPAPERSPhotonics.com 2/11/2022A 0.19 e- rms Read Noise 16.7 Mpixel Stacked Quanta Image Sensor with 1.1 µm-Pitch Backside Illuminated PixelsThis paper reports a 16.7 Mpixel, 3D-stacked backside illuminated Quanta Image Sensor (QIS) with 1.1 µm-pitch pixels which achieves 0.19 e- rms array read noise and 0.12 e- rms best single-pixel read...Photonics.com 9/27/2023Raman SpectroscopyTo achieve accurate and precise Raman measurements, optical filters play a crucial role in enhancing signal-to-noise ratio, and reducing background interference.
