Newport Corp. has introduced protected gold broadband mirrors to its line of metallic mirrors. They are suitable for scientific research as well as aerospace and defense applications that use near- to far-infrared wavelengths, and, according to the company, they provide a reflected beam with less scatter and good wavefront quality. The mirrors are available round or elliptical, on Pyrex or Zerodur substrates, and for 650- to 2000-nm wavelengths. Available surface flatness ranges from λ/2 to λ/20, and surface quality, from 40-20 to 10-2 scratch-dig.See full product
