Request InfoSphereOptics GmbHSphereOptics has introduced a multi-exposure high dynamic range (HDR) feature for its I- and Y-Series ProMetric imaging photometers. The HDR mode increases the dynamic range of the ProMetric camera up to 1,000,000:1. The newly developed algorithm achieves this range extension by combining separate images with different exposure times. This method increases the gray scale range of the image while lowering the noise level. The accuracy of the measured luminance has an error of ±3 percent for luminance and x-y color coordinates of ±0,003. The multi-exposure HDR feature...See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra December 2021 IssueIR Camera with Microscope OpticsAutomation Technology GmbH has announced an IR camera with microscope optics, providing an alternative to cooled IR cameras. Each approach exhibits advantages and disadvantages, depending on the type of light detector and acquisition method employed. The term fluorescence is often applied as a synonym for photoluminescence, although luminescence actually covers fluorescence and phosphorescence. Both of these terms describe the process of...Photonics HandbookSWIR Imaging: An Industrial Processing Tool: Short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging with InGaAs-based cameras is well suited to nondestructive identification of materials, their composition, coatings, and other characteristics.Imaging has long been used in industrial processes to measure, monitor, control, or otherwise manage the production of goods. The challenge to the process designer is to develop a tool that captures...Photonics HandbookUltraviolet Reflectance Imaging: Applications: Ultraviolet imaging has long been thought to be difficult and awkward by many photographers because of the difficulties encountered when using photographic film in the UV band. Digital ultraviolet imaging is becoming increasingly affordable and lends itself to a number of interesting applications that have been largely overlooked, and digital sensors are available that span the UV spectrum from 200 to 400 nm.Reflected-ultraviolet imaging is a rather mysterious area of the imaging field. There is relatively little actual UV imagery to be found on the Internet or in the literature compared to near-infrared...Photonics HandbookCamera Resolution: Combining Detector and Optics Performance: Most image-quality discussions center on resolution, which is thought to uniquely determine system performance. Resolution, however, is a more complex concept.Camera resolution depends upon the optical blur diameter and the detector size.
