Rofin-Sinar Inc.The SC x series of low-power CO2 lasers from Rofin-Sinar Inc. are for cutting paper, glass and plastics; for marking; and for incorporation into rapid prototyping machines. These lasers combine sealed-gas and diffusion-cooled slab laser technology. They use an RF excitation power supply and industrial-design optics to provide a beam quality factor of K >0.8 and pointing stability of <0.2 mrad half angle. Peak power in pulse mode extends to 230 W for the 100-W model and to 480 W with the 200-W model.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra September 2023 IssueBeam Profiling SystemThe Ophir® BeamWatch® Plus noncontact beam profiling system from MKS Instruments Inc. is designed for measuring focus shift, focus spot size, and position of high-power industrial lasers...Photonics.com 7/20/20223D PrinterThe Sapphire XC 1MZ 3D printer from Velo3D Inc. allows users to print parts with a height of 1 m, increasing the addressable use cases of end-to-end metal additive manufacturing.
