The device features 30-mNm stall torque from the motor and a self-locking friction drive to hold the motor in position without consuming power. The integrated 15-bit magnetic absolute encoder provides closed-loop resolution of 0.2 mrad. The Piezo LEGS technology enables submicroradian resolution in open loop. The LR17 model is the first motor in a series of four different sizes, the company said.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra September 2019 IssueTesting SystemTelops’ TESTD systems series from SphereOptics GmbH offers nondestructive testing solutions for the evaluation of components or assemblies in order to detect defects without damaging the...Photonics.com 11/29/2019Flicker MeterViso Systems’ Labflicker meter from Pro-Lite Technology Ltd. is a high-speed photometer that provides measurements of common flicker metrics. The basic two-beam division of amplitude interferometer components consists of a light source, a...Photonics HandbookLaser Beam Measurement: Slit-Based Profilers for Pulsed Beams: Although slit-based profilers were designed to measure continuous-wave (CW) lasers, they can also work for pulsed-mode lasers.Measuring pulsed-beam lasers has generally required the use of a CCD array profiler. This is a reasonable solution for low-power lasers in the UV and visible wavelength range, but these require...Photonics HandbookAspheric Lenses: Optimizing the Design: This second of two articles discusses the tools optical designers need to tailor their designs to the appropriate manufacturing process, optimizing the cost of component fabrication. With the understanding of aspheric lens manufacturing provided in part one of this article, designers have the tools to optimize their aspheres; the next step is to understand how to specify and...Photonics HandbookMeasuring Small-Beam MFD: Overcoming the Challenges: Small beams are used in many critical applications yet often they are not directly profiled. While obtaining good beam profiling data on beams under 10 µm has its challenges, they can be overcome with proven techniques.Profiling beams under 10 µm in size is one of the more challenging beam profiling applications. There are numerous reasons for this, including the very small size.
